This article provides a standardized approach to listing products in Dandalee, ensuring consistency, clarity, and ease of use for bulk imports via Excel.
1. Name
Format: [Brand] [Product Type] [Key Descriptor] [Size/Spec]
Purpose: Descriptive, searchable product identifier.
Rules:
Use space to separate segments.
Capitalize the first letter of each word.
Keep it 3-5 segments, concise but clear.
Skip Brand or ProductType if not applicable, maintain structure.
Example: Acme Slab Mountain Lion 1200x600mm
(Acme brand, Mountain Lion variant, 1200x600mm size)
2. SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
Format: [BrandCode]-[CategoryID]-[3-DigitNumber]
Purpose: Unique identifier for base product.
Rules:
Capitalize all letters.
BrandCode: 2-letter shorthand (e.g., "AC" for Acme, "DK" for Daikin).
CategoryID: Top level category ID (e.g., "643" for Floors, Walls, & Ceilings, "2294" for Sanitary Ware).
Number: Unique 3-digit sequence (001-999).
No variants here—base product only.
Example: AC-643-001 (Base SKU for Acme slabs)
3. Variant SKU
Format: [SKU]-[VariantCode]
Purpose: Unique identifier for product variants (e.g., color, size).
Rules:
For products with variants, a variant SKU is generated automatically when you upload, with extra digits appended.
Example: AC-643-001-1 (Acme slab, Mountain Lion White 600x300mm variant)
4. Unit Price
Format: Numeric value in local currency (e.g., USD, AED, NGN).
Purpose: The price displayed to buyers on the marketplace.
Rules:
In the input, enter the Unit Price of the product.
Dandalee's Commission for our Free, Basic, or Premium plans is 5% commission.
Dandalee's Commission for our Enterprise plan is a reduced 3% commission.
Net Revenue is the final amount the seller receives after Dandalee's commission is deducted.
Calculated as: Net Revenue = Unit Price * (1 - 0.05) (where Dandalee takes a 5% commission).
Round to 2 decimal places.
Ensure the price reflects market standards for construction products.
Example:
If Unit Price = $4,500.00, then Net Revenue = $4,500.00 * 0.95 ≈ $4,275.00.
5. Quantity Type (check out this article for more info)
Format: Standardized unit of measure from the approved list.
Purpose: Defines how the product is sold (e.g., per piece, square meter).
Rules:
Choose from: Pieces (Pcs), Units (Unit), Each (Ea), Cubic Meters (m³), Cubic Feet (ft³), Liters (L), Gallons (Gal), Square Meters (m²), Square Feet (ft²), Square Yards (yd²), Kilograms (kg), Tons (T), Pounds (lb), Ounces (oz), Bags (Bag), Sacks (Sack), Packs (Pack), Boxes (Box), Bundles (Bdl), Rolls (Roll), Pails (Pail), Drums (Drum), Meters (m), Feet (ft), Yards (yd), Lengths (Lng), Sheets (Sht), Pallets (Pal), Loads (Load), Sets (Set), Pairs (Pr), Barrels (Brl).
Match the unit to the product’s natural selling form (e.g., “m²” for slabs, “Pcs” for screws).
Example: m² for Acme Slab Mountain Lion 1200x600mm.
6. Product Condition
Format: "New" or "Used".
Purpose: Describes the product’s condition.
Rules:
Most construction products should be "New" unless explicitly used.
Be transparent to avoid disputes.
Example: "New"
7. Description
Format: Short, plain-text summary (50-100 words).
Purpose: Quick overview for buyers.
Rules:
Highlight key features, material, and use.
Avoid technical jargon unless necessary.
Example:

8. Specification
Format: Structured list in Excel-friendly text (e.g., key/value pairs or bullet points).
Purpose: Detailed technical info.
Rules:
Use consistent separators (e.g., "; " or "|").
